After many years of occasional collaboration, we had the great pleasure of welcoming Dr. Ali Abdelrahman from Fayoum University in Egypt to our Thünen Institute campus today. Dr. Abdelrahman is currently a scholar at the German Institute of Development and Sustainability in Bonn and took the opportunity to visit us. He introduced his current work on socioeconomic and environmental impacts of climate smart agriculture adoption toward sustainable rural development in our meeting.
Colleagues from the Thünen Institute of Market Analysis, Thünen Institute of Climate-Smart Agriculture, and the Thünen Coordination Unit Climate, Soil, Biodiversity presented their work on soil organic carbon in agricultural soils, global value chains, and food loss and waste. It was a good opportunity to connect the activities conducted by @AgriDENZ and the Collaboration Initiative Food loss and waste launched at MACS-G20. We are thrilled that a personal exchange has finally taken place and look forward to further collaborations.
