Visiting New Zealand - new Update

After a great day in the Waikato, Elin Martinsson and Matthew Barnett flew down to Ōtautahi Christchurch for the 12th and 13th of November. The visit included meeting with members of the New Zealand Institute for Bioeconomy Science Limited: AgResearch Lifecylce Assessment (LCA) team (André Mazzetto, Tim Driver, Vincent Desaulniers Brousseau, Mariana Pereira Barsotti), where they learned more about ongoing LCA work across an increasingly broad field, including social and cultural LCA, as well as discussing the links between LCA, farm-level GHG accounting, and the national inventory. They also met with Stephen Wallace, New Zealand Institute for Bioeconomy Science Limited (BSI) Sustainability Manager, to explore sustainability issues both within the BSI groups and more broadly (even globally). They were also able to visit the Lincoln University Dairy Farm / South Island Dairy Demonstration Farm where, in spite of the wet weather, Antoinette Archer gave a great overview of the farm, pasture management, emissions calculations, Ecopond, and more. A big thanks to all those who took time from their busy schedules to make the visit such a success.
